Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry mandated to coordinate the elaboration of standards and quality of products and services so as to facilitate fair trade, promote local industries and protect consumers. UNBS is currently looking for suitable and qualified candidates to fill the following available post.

Driver (8 Positions)

Duties and responsibilities:
Reports to the Administrative Officer and performs the following duties:-

•Drives the UNBS vehicles as directed and ensure their safety.
•Check vehicles to ensure that they are in proper and good running condition.
•Maintain the vehicle by ensuring its cleanliness, regular service and repair.
•Maintain the vehicle records including service cards.
•Maintain accurate log sheets and give accountability of fuel used.
•Inform your supervisor immediately about mechanical problems which result from normal use and accident or theft immediately to both the Police and your supervisor.
•Any other official duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualification and Experience:
•Should possess at least 3 Classes, (B, CH, DL and or DM) for the driving permit
•’A’ Level certificate of education
• Minimum of 5 years experience in driving with a clean record
• A person of high integrity and honesty
• A certificate on motor vehicle maintenance will be an added advantage

Age: Not more than 45 years

UNICEF Uganda Job Vacancy: Recruitment for Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Specialist

Post Title: Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Specialist
Grade: NO-3 Duty Station: Moroto
Type of Contract: Fixed Term Duration: One year with possible extension
Purpose of the post: Under the direct supervision of the Water and Sanitation Specialist Moroto, and the general guidance of the Chief Field Office Moroto and Chief WASH Kampala Office, the WASH Specialist is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of water supply, sanitation and hygiene interventions in the eastern focus districts, as an integral part of the country Programme and Child Survival and Development goals.

Qualification and Experience:
1. Advanced University Degree preferably in areas of sanitation and hygiene, public health, civil engineering, sciences related to water and sanitation or other related technical field;
2. Five (5) years professional work experience both at national and international level in water supply, sanitation and hygiene with experience in household sanitation and hygiene improvement, water quality testing, community based WASH facility management system, provision of water & sanitation to pastoral community, data collection and analysis, emergency preparedness and response.
3. Versatility, judgment, maturity, and the ability to work both on a team and independently. High ability to cope with stressful and difficult conditions, and political/cultural sensitivity;
4. Current knowledge of development issues, policies, as well as social programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation; familiarity with WASH tools and strategies like: PHAST, Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) and School Led Total Sanitation (SLTS)
5. Ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills.

6. Emergency programme management and operations experience;
7. Analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skills; Fluency in English language is required. Knowledge of another UN working language and local working language of the duty station is an asset;
8. Good knowledge of computer management and application;
9. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment;

Pathfinder International (PI) seeks a Country Representative to manage and increase visibility
and funding for PI programs in Uganda.

DUTIES:
1. The Country Representative prominently positions PI as a leader in the field of reproductive health and as a successful partner in the development and cost effective implementation of programs.
2. He/she works closely with PI’s in-country and Headquarters staff to conceptualize and plan program development activities, diversify funding resources, and build on country and international best practices.

4. He/she ensures that program objectives are met, all activities are responsive to the needs of the

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. Master’s degree in public health, social sciences or related field;
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing mid-large scale reproductive health programs in developing and transitioning countries;
3. Proven record of successful fund raising from diverse public and private sources,
4. Strong business development expertise, including proposal writing and negotiation skills;
5. Demonstrated experience in successfully fulfilling performance objectives, including the timely implementation and reporting of donor-funded program activities;
6. Willingness and ability to travel in-country up to 25% time and occasionally to the US
Headquarters depending upon project needs.
